Spring Cleaning- What A Chore!

It doesn't have to be. Here are some tips.

1> Old tooth brushes are great tools. They allow you to get into those little areas fingers can not. I use these when cleaning my window seals. Each year I take a dry tooth brush and brush out the dust and dirt that builds up in window seals. Many times if you have older windows they can look new again with a good cleaning and a coat of Kilz paint. Sealing the wood will help with water, and sun damage.

2> Dryer sheets. Yes break out that box of dryer sheets and use them to help clean up. These are great to clean screens. They collect dust and when you open your window the dust blows in. So take a clean dryer sheet and rub them from the inside of the window. It makes them shine and the breeze smells great. I also use these in vents. After you vacume them out place a dryer sheet inside and this is a great filter as well as fragrances the home "Snuggle or April Fresh".

3> Wood work tips. Use a tinted oil to match your wood tone. Wipe it on buffing out any scratches of dings. Allow that to sit on the wood a while and then go back with a wipe on finish. You can find these in the home improvement stores where you find the stains. Look for a wipe on water base sealer. A little goes a long way.

4> Don't forget the ceilings and walls> I like to use a 1/2 cup of bleach and a few drops of a dawn dish soap. I put this solution in warm water in a large spray bottle and wipe down my walls. If you have flat paint on the walls use a dry towel spraying the wall will not be a good solution for you. For a greener method you can dilute distilled vinegar into the water bottle.

5> Ceiling fans don't get the attention they need each week. A dry toothbrush and a warm solution above will clean up oily residue on fan blades. A firm step ladder is recommended but if heights are not your thing, disassemble the fan to you counter top and clean it there.

Just returned home from a great day at WRMS. Today I got in front of a classroom of over 100 8th graders who's assignment was to listen to different professionals speaking about various industries.

It has been over five years since I stood in front of a classroom teaching. I left the profession to presue my passion in this industry. So standing in the front of a classroom was very fun.

Today the class got to hear about what our profession is all about, the kind of skills needed and how to find a company that might fulfill their life's passion. I referred them to the DSA.org sight to find a company in general, I offered FREE advice to those thinking about the industry as a whole and what to consider.

I related our industry to other commission type jobs and discussed how math, science, reading and writing all play a part in my career each day.

If you ever get a chance to do this for a school, keep it simple, relate to what is being taught, wow them with facts they can relate to, and make it FUN! Relating topics like face book, and YouTube are great ways to entertain them.

Visual items like our companies Paperless bags is a great riddle they could try to figure out. Keep it simple and age appropriate.

How to Energize your room to invite you, and release stress.

Here are just a few tips to help you get more out of your home and make it warm and inviting.

1) Hide the TV- allowing your technical world to be taken in and out will help you make better use of space, and time. We all fall to trap when the tv is on we sit and tune in, and in, and in.. Before you know it time has gotten away from us and we become stressed out and feel overwhelmed.

2) Rearrange - Rearranging your furniture and accessories is a great way to loose the drabs. Think of how you feel when you walk into a home where nothing ever changes. Now think about just rearranging the room or putting on a new coat of paint. How fresh that is and inviting.

3) Swap out old furniture - Spring is the best time to do this. Sales are everywhere. Look for traditional pieces, solid colors that are tried and true. Look for low back couches, or unique pieces like bucket chairs or rugs. Garage sales are great ways to pick up a hutch, paint and some trim and it is a whole new look.

4) Divvy up the chores, or hire in someone to help- when your home is in order so is your mind. I think you can just relax in a space without caos. Don't neglect trim, windows, and lampshades if dusty your room looks tired.

5) Lighting- soft light is wonderful, when I walk into a department store and bright florescent bulbs pierce my eyes, I get out... But if you use soft lights, lights on dimmers, or candles the whole room looks better. EVERYONE looks better and younger in candlelight. Why do you think they are the preferred light to romance with.

Investing In Women will begin the grant with $25 and the remainder will be donated through the site by visitors and from paid advertisements. All grant donors will receive recognition on the site with their name or website link.“This gives us more transparency in our grant process and allows others to do something positive for a small business owner.” says Leah Oviedo, founder of Investing In Women. “Our goal is to offer 100 micro-grants in the next 2 years. Start-up Costs

There are no start up fees. You can become a distributor simply by joining our Candle of the Month (COTM) program for $39.95 per month. Each month you’ll receive: - A 16oz Gourmet jar candle - A box of a dozen Gourmet Votives - A Gourmet Bath and Body Bar - A Distributor website is included too! Commissions

You will be making 40% to 80% commission on all your retail sales. As a distributor, you will purchase all products at wholesale prices and then retail them at a price YOU select. The company offers a suggested retail price as a guideline to what the products are selling for across the country, but YOU make the final decision based on your area and demographics. This allows you to stay competitive while building a solid and profitable business. This flexibility is rare in direct sales and so empowering!

If you decide to refer others to the Candle of the Month program and business, you will earn 10% commission on the wholesale orders of all your personally sponsored distributors. TREAT IT LIKE A BUSINESS:

If you started a career you really enjoyed and wanted to do all your life you would show up early, organize to preform at the top of your game and even go above the level to just keep the job. Right!? Same thing with owning your own business, sure you can do the job in pj's but you need to make sure to set office hours, schedule your time to work, and take each day seriously.

HAVE FUN EACH DAY:
Smile and enjoy what you do. Think about what happens to you when you meet someone who is really negative. "I tired, don't feel good, sick of rain...ect..." what happens to you and your spirit that day? You grow tired, you begin to feel ill, and if you don't enjoy the day what happens to your outlook for the day, week, month....Ect......? Instead smile, be thankful for each day splash and welcome the rain, feel the sun enjoy the vit. D it offers and move forward in your day with gratitude.

BELIEVE:
I can not stress this enough... Believe in yourself, believe that you can move mountains in your business, believe in your products and what they can do for you and others. Believe!

USE THEM:
Wow, I can not tell you how many people tell me they work for this great company that offers high end products with affordable prices and then I see them shopping a competitor for similar items. Today is a great day in my business.

As a leader I am asked how do I...... on all types of subjects.

My answer usually dives into what they (those sponsored) are doing now. How are you...... on all types of subjects.

These is no one answer that fits each team member. I wish there was, it would make my team happier and I would spend less time training and more time enjoying life.

What three qualities are you looking for in a new recruit?

1) Reliable- In this day and age I am looking for people who I can count on. It you say you are available 8-10 hours a day to work the business, your results should reflect that. "Say what you mean and mean what you say". Will you be at those meetings, events, and team calls?

2) Self-Starters - You want to find people who are self starters, who care about others and helping others. Stay clear from those people who are in it for themselves.

3) CEO's - Yes you are looking for those who want to be the BOSS. Own their own company and treat their business like the boss. Work and are committed to doing what it takes.

People kill their own dreams... No really, all the negative crap that is around us everyday is destroying our dreams. Just turn on TV, read the paper or talk to your so called friends these days who are loosing their jobs. Dreams are being sucked out of our lives. Who wants to take chances?

A small fact is that once you give up it is almost impossible to achieve your dreams. You have to believe in yourself again, believe that you deserve them and that you CAN achieve them. You will have to listen to hours of positive reinforcements and reprogram yourself and your way of thinking. Sometime this means giving up TV, newspapers, talking to friends that are just not in a positive place.

That sounds like WORK! Who has time to work that hard at something? In today's society we are getting the feeling that everyone is going to get a big fat check, but it just isn't coming. The promises of riches for doing nothing just isn't in the cards. You have to WORK to make money.

We work to make money, to feed a family, buy things but why won't we work on ACHIEVING OUR DREAMS? Could it be TIME?

Our time is valuable isn't it? It is a fact that there is 24 hours in one day, right? 8 of those hours should be sleep, 8 hours for our JOBS then we have 8 hours to do and plan the way we want to. Are our dreams not worth those 8 hours of time?

We could always use 8-10 hours a week to DEVOTE to our dreams. That still leaves 48 hours a week to do other things we enjoy like tennis, TV, or family time.

Everyone is talking about mineral make up these days. What does it all mean? I am old school, give me a foundation, blush, some eyeliner and shadows that make my eyes look smokey. This has always been my comfort zone.

What does mineral make-up mean, where does it come from and who says it can make me look younger?

First off I am no expert. I can tell you that I have spent much money on makeup. As I got older my skin began seeing age spots, discoloration, wrinkles, thinning and well most of everyone else's problems. So why listen to me and what I have to say? Because I have been right were you are today. Looking for help and trying to understand my skin as I age.

I grew up in sunny Arizona. I loved to go out in the sun, swim, and well just didn't have a care. That is what kids did right? Today we all know that the sun can harm our skin. So today I am going to share with you what I did, without surgery and how I achieved it.

I wash my face daily, I use moisturizers, and find all natural is the best results. You will pay more for pure and natural but if you want to stay younger longer my best results came from products that were better quality.

I tried egg washes, found out that I got yellow skin. When I noticed thinning under the eyes, I spoke to a doctor who said a rich vit. E and protein cream will help rebuild skin cells.

We all know that the only way we can get this is if we pay for the ticket to get there.

How can a candle business get me to this image and what do they have in common?

First off owning your own business is work. Ask anyone who has opened their own business and been successful. You can not just sit by and hope it happens. You must take action to make each day count.

Time- How much time do we have to put into this candle business? I have seen many successful entrepreneurs put just 8 hours a week into a business and make it produce. It really is not about the time so much as what you do in the time you allow yourself.

I would recommend you look at 6 things a day to move you in the right direction. What 6 actions can you do, afford to do, and keep doing each day. What would they be? Only you can decide these but here are some simple ideas to make your candle business work.

1. Talk to people each day about your candle business. I read a book a while back, and it mentioned playing a game. Take 6 pennies and put them in your left pocket at the start of each day. Your goal is to move these pennies from the left to the right pocket by talking to people about your candle business. Your day is not over until you do this task each day. Remember not everyone is right for your candle business but if you share it with everyone you don't prejudge anyone. Think of it this way Company A and Company B both sell the same products, they offer the same pay and benefits. Company A talks to everyone Company B seeks out a certain candidates. Company A has a bigger volume than Company B, Why? Maybe it is because Company A has more sales agents and reaches more customers. If you don't make the decision to talk to someone, someone else will.

2. Focus on your goals. If you haven't made goals for your business you need to do this. Setting small goals like; earning your first dollar and framing it, holding your first open house, or maybe finding 5 people to join your candle business. These goals show and record your progress. Without them you don't get a clear picture each day.

3. Learn as much as you can about your candle business and the industry itself. Who is your major competition, what can you offer verses your competitor, or maybe how others can earn money in your candle business.

4. Provide outstanding service in your candle business. Customers will return to shop with people they know like and trust. How do you allow your customers to know you? Face book might be a way to connect or other social media places. How do they get to like you? Talk to them, get to know them and use you memory skills. When a friend talks listen. Trusting someone takes time but if the other two areas are mastered most say they trust that person to work with them.

5. Keep in Contact with your candle customers. Set up a way to stay in touch with everyone on a regular basis. Send emails, mail postcards, catalogs or other media. Make a point to call every 4 months if anything to find out what they like best about your products, or a customer service call on a recent order. Your candle business will thank you in the long run.

6. Follow-up with everything. If you fail to follow-up you can fail at any business. Someone once taught me a phrase, "Say what you mean and mean what you say". If you tell someone you will call, do it. If you say you have something you can help them with you need to do it.

Q1: Do you want to earn some extra money?
Q2: Are you willing to set aside 6-10 hours a week?

Networking Business Owners

To begin I wanted to share with you my business and some of the creative ways I have met some of the best people to share my business with.

Every second Saturday of every month I invite people that either have expressed an interest in my business, or those I think would be great business partners, and yes even those who express that they just can not seem to make ends meet, to a local luncheon to listen, meet people actively working a small business like mine or just seem to need a little guidance in what they are currently are doing.

By doing this I get to know some of the best people in my industry, recruit new sales reps and also share my love of my business.

The meetings last an hour to an hour and a half. I hold it in a public place since many people find this to be less evasive. I usually give them a personal invitation and call to make sure they can come. I remind them to leave there checkbooks at home since there is no buying or selling of any products at the meetings.

I usually have someone speak at the meeting offering a learning opportunity that is of value to the guests. They very in topic but are universal so that if I bring a guest who has a business and just can not seem to get a good start he or she can learn something and use it in their business.

Basically I am building a relationship with this person, and building that trust bond.

It is a known fact that people do business with those people that they know and trust. So the success lies in building relationships.

What ever you do DON"T try to sell them anything. NO PRODUCTS, NO BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, and don't try to convince them to use you and your products. This will NOT work if you do.

I once had someone invite me to her home to buy my products and when I got there she was introducing me to a new business that she ran out of her home. I felt violated. I was brought to her home as a business guest to purchase and or learn about my products and instead of this happening she was inviting me there to sell hers. Better known as bait and switch. I can not tell you how horrible this was for me. I can not trust someone who from the onset misled me to do business with her.

So in conclusion, over the next few weeks I will be interviewing other small business owners and sharing there stories with you in hopes that you can get to know them better and use or refer them for your next purchase or project.

"The sky is falling?"

Everywhere I turn I hear people talking about the "sky falling" or the market tanking, and wondering if we are in a recession?

WHY? I think business is what you bring of it. If we are always to be worried about what the world is coming to then how do we enjoy life?

Owning a small home based business now for the past 14 years I have learned many things.

Don't stop building relationships with your customer's.
Building relationships with your customer's will keep them coming back to you. We all need to be needed and feel appreciated. Give this to your customer's and be sincere. Don't only call when you are looking for the sales.

Be giving and it will return to you. I have found that you are not going to change the minds of people. Let them come to you after you have given them your product to try. If they don't like it don't take it personal, they may refer you to someone else who is.

Don't worry about the competition or the larger companies like "Wal-Mart".
The giants will always be out there. Those who own a small business know that it is hard work, dedication, and devotion to what your love and passion is that will make you a winner in the end. Worrying about the "other guys" will only block your creativity that is needed to bring in new clients. Be happy about your passion, and most importantly keep dreaming!

Finally, Networking does work. Find other's out there who are just like you and you can help each other grow. I belong to a few networking groups where I choose to do business with. I listen to what they need or are looking for and we pass referrals. I recently started a new local group and will be devoting some of my blog time to learning more about them, there business and how I can help them. By doing this I hope that my readers my be able to find a small business owner that is someone they will feel comfortable in contacting them for themselves.

Realtor Gift Baskets

I had a overwhelming response to these baskets at one local event. It is paying off in big profits.
I packaged up one of our cream color electric simmer pots in a nice baskets filled with elegant paper shreds and two bags of our Mia Melts. I usually put together two scents that compliment each other like Hot Apple Pie and French Vanilla and on the hang tag I type up a cute elegant "home like" tag that has a fresh cut slice of hot apple pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. So on the tag I type "No need to turn on your oven, enjoy the scent of hot apple pie Ala mode compliments of" (Add the Realtors name here) I then attach a apple cookie cutter, rolling pin or something like this to add to the novelty. These are a HUGE HIT.... You can even price them up to $50. Or add some kitchen merchandise that is functional like a dishtowel in a neutral color (rather have no themes) and some out of the ordinary kitchen gadgets that deal with baking pies. As a rule of thumb I never price up the cost of the tools in my baskets. I charge what I pay for them only.

ABCDE Method

We have learned so much in the last 5 chapters. In chapter 6 Tracy introduces the ABDCE method. How does this work?

1. Start a list of everything you have to do for the day.
2. The go back and list them in order of importance. For example, the A item should be the most important and so one. He tells us if you have two items of major importance then number them A1, and A2. Eating the biggest and ugliest one first.
**For those of us familiar with the Franklin Covey system it is very similar to that.
3. A "B" task is defined as a should do, but only has a mild consequence if left undone. And you should never begin a "B" task if an "A" task is incomplete.
4. A "C" task is one that would be nice to see done but has no consequences. This is similar to phoning a friend or having coffee with a co-worker.
5. A "D" task is something you can delegate to someone else. Delegate everything someone else can do to free you up for more important things.
6. An "E" task is something you can eliminate altogether and not make a difference. Maybe a task that is no longer relevant.

Practice Creative Procrastination

Make time to get big tasks done each day.
Plan your days workload.
Start out and gather those small jobs to get them done and out of the way quickly.
Finally go to the BIG FROG and pursue them to completely complete them.

Start with the very worst task first. But being a creative procrastinator is one of the most affective's performance techniques. Have you ever thought, I got a lot done today? Or looked up at the clock and were amazed how fast time flew. You accomplished a lot did’t you? You got those small tasks under control, only to spend some quality time on that big ugly frog did’t you. What you did was ate the tadpoles and got them out of the way in order to focus on those FROGS..

The one most powerful word in time management is one few have the ability to say. It is a mere two letter word. “NO” So say it politely, say it clearly, so that it isn’t misunderstood. Say it regularly and use it to take control back of your time. We don’t have to do everything in life all at once. We usually spread ourselves too thin.. This is not healthy.

Consider the consequences

In this chapter we are to look at our actions and consider what will happen if we do, or don’t do something on the list. After reading this chapter I realized that so many people do not take the time to do this. Recently I attended a conference on people’s spending habits, here we learned that millions of people are facing large amounts of debt, and have no savings. I believe that it is due to this one step Brian Tracy is talking about.

He says that the mark of a superior thinker is his or her ability to accurately predict the consequences of doing or not doing something. He goes on to tell us that there are three questions we should consider to maximize productivity.

1. What are my highest valued activities at this moment? What will make the greatest contributions to the organization?

2. What can I and only I do that if done well will make a real difference? This is something you can not choose to delegate. Only you can contribute this and make a HUGE difference.

3. What is the most valuable use of my time right now? What is the BIGGEST FROG now on your plate? Accomplish that.

Will we ever accomplish it all? The answer is that we all hope so. But the truth is NO. We have chosen to procrastinate all of our lives, think of the number of books you have on a list that you wanted to read someday. If there are only a few moments a day you can dedicate to reading how will that list ever go away if you do not work at it each day, and will that list of books ever stop growing? Probably not. So how will the list completely vanish. The fact is that each day we add to the list. This is why I believe that so many of us so often feel overwhelmed and even helpless at times. Have you ever used the phrase, will this (day, moment) ever end? The answer to that is yes, but you have to be willing to EAT THAT FROG…

Remember: You can not eat every tadpole and frog in the pond, but you can eat the biggest and ugliest one, and that will be enough a least for now……….

Apply the 80/20 Rule to Everything

We would definitely have enough time to do the things we want to do if we just do it right!

In Chapter three of "Eat that Frog" The author tells us that we miss use this 80/20 rule. We don't get the things that should be done first thing done. It is better to just jump it, instead of dipping our toes.

The Italian economist Vilfredo Pareto first wrote the Pareto Principle. He noticed that people seem to divide up into two groups. The top 20 percent seem to have more money, are more successful, and more influence. The bottom 80 percent seem not to have any of this.

Have you ever heard that 20% of your activities will account for 80% of your results, or 20% of your customer's will account for 80% of your sales, or how about 20% of your products or services will account for 80% of your profits. Fact is that 20% of your tasks will account for 80% of the value of what you do.

It is a sad fact that 10 or 20 percent of items that are the most valuable and important, the "Vital Few". They busy themselves instead with the least important 80 percent, the "Trivial Many" that contribute very little to the results.

We need to focus on the activities, not the results. Didn't your mother ever tell you to just try! As a mother of two myself, I look at this chapter and value them. I look at them each day and see them making lists, trying it all, even if they fail, head high and seem proud. But I see myself not following that same rule. As adults we tend to be valued on the accomplishments don't we. Not many of us have bosses that say, Nice try, or Get them next time. If we fail we fear what comes next. Downsizing and not making the cut.

As I read this chapter I figured out why I have chosen the path of being the boss. I also noticed that I am not doing everything I can to make my career and my income level what it can be.

Chapter 2: Plan every day in advance.

As usual Brian Tracy began with insight on eating an elephant. We have all heard that analogy. Anyway he goes on to tell us in this chapter how to step by step write down specific plans for the day, week and even the month.

He mentioned that if you do this at night before we fall asleep than we think of ways in our sleep to get more productivity out of our day. I believe our dreams are powerful uses of our unconscious energy. If I can develop a way to dream of making my work easier or can dream great insight that I think this could be true. Usually I dream of becoming someone famous, or coming into a lot of money, never stopping to think that it was one of the last things in my mind before bed.

In case you have not ever heard of the six P’s here they are. Proper Prior Planning Prevents Poor Performance. We just need to plan to promote productivity to increase performance. So few of us practice this daily.

Okay so put the 10/ 90 rule into action. What is this rule you ask? Well Tracy tells us that the first 10 percent of time that you spend planning and organizing your work before doing it will save you as much as 90 percent of the time getting the work done. He encourages us to try it just once to know this is true.

So become unstoppable today and the rest of your life. Make a plan, give yourself purpose and prove that you are productive.

Eat That Frog? How to stop procrastinating and get more done in less time.

I started my week reading a new book by Brian Tracy titled "Eat that Frog". I thought that I would journal in my blog what I am learning as I read this book. I hope that you enjoy and learn along with me.

Chapter One..........
First I must tell you that reading this book is fun and funny! Brian Tracy begins this book by introducing us to his own fears and how he has researched to overcome them.

The first chapter is titled, Set the table. He goes on to explain that this is one quality we must possess to win, give us purpose, and desire to achieve our goals.

Think of a frog as the ugliest and most annoying think in the world to you. This is one thing that you just hate doing, and hate to think about. Everyday you are faced with this FROG. We discover that we must have clarity in our own personal productivity. If we do not overcoming this FROG will possibly not happen. We need clear minds and be clear about our goals and objectives.
I learned that the major reason we procrastinate is due to lack of motivation, confusion, and cluttered minds.

He offers us hope by telling us we just need to write down our goals on paper. Did you know that only 3% of us do this? I thought that number would be higher I guess. Here are his seven simple steps to setting and achieving goals.
1. Decide exactly what you want. If you can not decide for yourself talk this out with someone who knows you well or a boss.
Stephen Covey says... "Before you begin scrambling up the ladder of success, make sure that it is leaning against the right building"
2. Write it down. Writing down your goals makes them crystal clear, and gives it tangible form.
3. Set a deadline on your goal. Set sub deadlines if necessary. A goal or decision without a deadline has no urgency. Wow! So true, for years now I wanted to write a book and I have written this down but never gave myself a deadline. It has not been finished yet so look for this on my website in a month.
4. Make a list of everything that you can think of that you are going to have to do to achieve your goal. As you think of these activities write them down. Keep adding to this list. This is a visual picture of the larger tasks and objectives in which you will need to overcome. Mine for my book was time.
5. Organize the list into a plan.. List it by priority and in order in which you need to do each step. Use visual aides to do this and point arrows to put them in order.
6. Take action on the plan immediately. Do something, anything but work on it. Don't stop.
7. Resolve to do something every single day that moves you toward your goal. Build it into your daily activities. Keep pushing forward.

Written goals motivate you into a clear way of thinking. His analogy is that goals are the fuel in the furnace of achievement. Think about your goals daily and review them.

I will end by saying that this book is great and easy to read. He even has tasks to help you better understand each chapter at the end and I suggest that doing them will help you greatly as they have helped me. The exercises he gives you, alone will change your life!

Procrastination

Have you ever put off doing something just for the day to doing something else?

You are not alone. Millions of people everyday have a list of tasks they will never complete. Procrastination is one of the biggest issues that add stress to our everyday lives. So what can we do to overcome this?

First we need to write down a list of tasks. Don't start with the smallest. Start with the biggest task and overcome it. Take control of this task that just seems to get put to he back burner.

Then work down the list until it is complete. Along the way new tasks will pop up and that is okay. Just simply add them into the pot and be sure if it is a priority that you are sure to put it on the top of the list.

Getting into this habit will help you overcome this procrastination that seems to overwhelm all of us.

If you are up for a good book, that is short and easy to read I would suggest picking up "Eat that Frog" by Brian Tracy. It is fun, has activities to help you oer come procrastinating and how to gain control back. It is full of helpful tips and examples and is not very long. It is a good book.

Debt Free?

What does being debt free really mean? We as a society have never been taught to budget, we live in a day and age that everyone lives in debt in some form. Credit cards, Student Loans, vehicle payments, first, second and various home improvement loans. It is no wonder that our country is so in debt.

Just turn on the television these days and watch as some lady skips down the road with shopping bags on all arms, new dress, new shoes, and just about everything she is wearing and holding is paid for on DEBT.

Not only that but credit card companies strive to make their ads more and more over the top. How about the one ad that tells you to round up each purchase and have that money go into your savings. This is credit card debt, as you get pennies they get hundred of dollars more each month.

Not to mention that as we go deeper and deeper into debt, bankruptcy cases go up and up. And it is getting harder and harder to get those debts forgiven. Someone has to be held accountable for these campaigns to just go in and raise rates. If the government doesn't come in an cap this then I suspect that we will see more people loose everything, families distrot and displaced, and more and more foreclosures.

I have to comment on one add that is being aired right now that just hits me the wrong way. As my husband and I have paid off all our debt and begin to save for retirement we have learned that society doesn't like it when we pay cash. One commercial on right now is when a man is in line paying for a donut and everyone is paying with a credit card, and he gets looked at "as if he has done something wrong" when he chooses to pay in cash.
WOW! What a slap in the face to us Americans who value our debt free lifestyles.

Turn on the radio and listen to talk radio once in a while. Learn what credit card companies are doing to us. Think about that "What If" factor. What If I lost my only income? Could you survive? How would you pay all your bills? Have you ever totaled up your monthly spending? What dollar amount would you need in order to keep your necessities? If you don't know these answers you will get burnt. Doesn't matter, once in a lifetime you will experience devastation in some form. It could be bankruptcy? Death? But for many of us it is that we loose our "JOBS" and have no means to keep afloat. So stop right now and figure it up, don't wait till it is too late, have a plan.

I have been writing a book for the past month that steps you through a process of being debt free. I plan on releasing this book within the next month. I plan on making it so affordable that everyone no matter what their income level is can afford it. What IF?

Finding a job that you love and have a passion for is what everyone is trying to find these days. Economy is booming while we are at war and yet many of us still are fearing to give up on our passion or dreams just to pay the bills. We dred going to work in the morning, we hate the fact that we have to pay taxes like social security that we will never see in our lifetime, yet everyday we do and everyday we bow down a little lower hating this factory lifestyle we live. So where is it that says we can not do something on our own and invest small amounts of time to build a business online, or in your backyard doing what you love.
NOTHING??? So why do many of us not even try? FEAR!!!
We all fear rejection, we all fear failure, we all fear the unknown. So why do we get up every morning and drive to work not knowing if we will even make it, why do we go to work fearing we will be replaced with a newer modle, or fear that our jobs will no longer be there? Yet we still go? For many of us it isn't fear it is the efforts of cost, and the scare of being taken and even the hard work it takes to be successful. It is easier to go to work for someone else and make some money. You should know by now that you will never get ahead in life working for othres. Instead you should be affraid not to take the risk. If you never take the risk you will fear the thought of never knowing if you could have done it before it is too late. For those of you screaming, "it is never too late", think about selling to someone covered in dirt 6 feet under. Or even laying in a hospital bed with one last breath to take. Is it too late? Do you really want the last thing to come to your mind dying be, "What if?"

Pink- Stimulates peace, happiness and joy. Promotes affection and laughter and thought to bring a soft gentle or charming way to life. If you are a candle lover you burn candles, all kinds of candles. But when you find an extrodenary candle you tell eveyone you know. That is what a Gourmet Scented Candle is. A quality candle that you will want to run and tell or share with everyone. I have customer's say to me, what is the most popular scent you sell? My response is that we have over 90 available year round and it will depend on the season and month. I sell a lot of candles. Everyone has a favorite and well it all depends on the person buying it. But for the most part those traditional scents always seem to sell well anytime. Like Apple Cinnamon, Cinnamon Raisin bun, Banana Nut Bread, Victorian Rose, Rain, Slate and Stone and even Sex On The Beach. What every your favorite time of year is, who the person is and what they like will depend on the scent you favore. No matter what scent you like best, we have it.

What are some tipes on getting a better burn time out of my jar candles?
Keep the candle out of a draft or down draft. Ceiling fans can cause this kind of draft. It will make the candle burn faster, and can create a pull effect to the wicks in the liquid state of the candles.

When I burn a votive why does it puddle? Becasue our products are soy, bees wax and vegetable base they are they fall into what is known a "soft candle line" these candles are a softer candle and if not burnt in the right holder you will get less performance out of them. BURN them in a snug fitting votive holder. These are usually cheaper and come in many designer looks now a days. Putting your candle in this kind of holder will give you a much better result and you will have a longer burn time expereince.

I spilt wax on my carpet, how do I get this up?
Well let me tell you that traditioanlly candles that spill on carpet, funiture or fabric was not easy to clean up. Matter of fact you may have just thrown it away. But now thanks to this proprietary formula you can clean it up in a snap with hot soapy water. (No scalding but warm) Try this with other candles on the market and well you are on your own. Our candles are made from natrual materials that are biodegradable. So better for the enviroment and we are not putting off hazardous toxic materials. Cleaner burning!

Should I trim my wicks? Yes, to 1/4 inch each time before lighting the candles. This will give you a better wick system, burn time will again be lengthened. We offer a double cotton wick system that allows for even burning and also will burn at a lower temp. So you are already getting double the burn time than an average scented candle.

Recommend that you also burn your candle for no more than 4 hours at a time then extinguish and then trim the wick before relighting. This will keep the wicks in the center of the jar and keep them from getting long and folding oven into the wax.

Simple Strides

Well it is wet and cold here and I am working on following up with those who have requested free scent samples, and people who have inquired about the business.

I regiested for a class today called "Get Balanced: Simple Strides for work-life harmony" I read the authors notes on the class and her background and find her uplifting. Can't wait to listen in.

I checked my messages this morning and business is wonderful. I had 7 orders to ship, and two leads to follow up with about the busienss.
